The Noosa Malibu Club and World Surfaris have signed a Multi-Year Deal to Host the Noosa Festival of Surfing.

The Noosa Malibu Club are delighted to announce that World Surfaris have signed a multi-year deal with the Club to host and manage the iconic Noosa Festival of Surfing from 2019 onwards. The Club has been established in the Noosa area for over 30 years and Club President Craig Johnson stated that the Club is excited by the partnership with World Surfaris.

“The collaborative partnership with World Surfaris will ensure that the Festival continues its long tradition of offering a world-class event for Longboard surfers to surf on world class waves,” said Craig.

“It will ensure that the tradition of the Noosa Festival of Surfing continues to promote and showcase this exceptional longboarding event for many years to come.”

The organisational expertise and management experience of World Surfaris forms an excellent foundation for the event. World Surfaris are Australia’s premier full-service surf tourism provider, offering quality surf tours to many of the world’s leading surfing destinations.

In addition, they are a long-standing co-sponsor of the Festival, having provided an overseas surfing trip as the Competitor Draw prize for many years John Finlay, World Surfaris CEO, stated the event is a great fit for World Surfaris and that “we are delighted to be able to make an even greater contribution to the event. We look forward to close collaboration with the Club and the Noosa Community to put on a fabulous Festival in 2019. We have a few ideas that we hope will breathe new life into this much-loved event.”

Noosa Malibu Club & World Surfaris have planned to hold a public meeting in late August to invite past and prospective sponsors, as well as other interested community members, for their input to the event.

The Festival remains scheduled to be held in its usual period of early March. It is expected that the event will continue with most of the previous competition divisions.
